AR Poop Patrol

House cleaning, yard maintenance, errand running, laundry service, childcare—these are common services we employ to help us run our lives more efficiently. Delegating some tasks can help leave more room for what matters most in our lives. Every little thing we manage can add up and take time away from what we want to do. There might just be a service for everything, and Arkansas Poop Patrol helps support that notion.

Too busy to clean up after your dog in the yard? No problem. Arkansas Poop Patrol is at your service. The local business also serves those who physically can’t clean up after their canine companions. As a plus, your four-legged friend might get some extra love and a treat or two if they’re in the yard when Beverly Edmonson and her crew are there working.

During Covid lockdown, like many others, Beverly and her husband, Ben, felt called to make a change. Their adventurous and entrepreneurial spirits wanted something more, something more fulfilling. “I love being outdoors, love animals, and do not mind sweat and hard work,” Beverly says. “We brainstormed and came up with Arkansas Poop Patrol.”

For nearly two decades, Beverly and Ben were based out of Telluride, a ski town in Southwest Colorado. As lifestyle photographers for major outdoor clothing and car companies, they lived in a van traveling the United States, Mexico, Central America, and South America most of the year.

“We did this until 2012, when I became very ill while shooting the end of the Mayan calendar in Guatemala,” Ben recalls. “I spent 2013 in the hospital and rehab and became a paraplegic due to my brain trying to swell outside of my head. I had gotten one of those one-in-a-million neuro diseases.”

Skip forward a few years later, and the couple moved to Arkansas to be near their families. “We were looking for something unique to start as a small business, but we had to figure out a need in the Covid economy,” Ben says. “After much thought we came up with scooping residential homes for dog poop. With a little bit of trepidation and just a dash of wonder, we jumped in feet first. Within a couple of weeks Beverly had left her longtime job as a banker and we threw caution to the wind. We started a website, made up our logo and marketing materials, and started finding clients.”

What started as a love for dogs when Beverly was young has turned into a business caring for canines and their families. Today, they have a couple of trucks and great clients all over central Arkansas. “Better yet, we have many pups that look forward to a ball toss, Scooby snack, or just a belly rubbing every day.”

The business offers their services on a once-a-week, twice-a-week, and bi-weekly basis. They also offer sanitizing to kill viruses and bacteria and help neutralize odors. “I hope what sets us apart is our attention to detail and our compassion for the dogs and the job we are doing,” Beverly says.

Arkansas Poop Patrol promises 100 percent satisfaction and ease for their clients. As Beverly states on the company’s website, “At Arkansas Poop Patrol, we believe that owning a dog is one of the greatest joys of life but cleaning up their poop can become a crappy chore when life is crazy busy.”

Beverly says she and her crew have high standards. “We are licensed and insured. We have great communication with our clients. Our software system notifies clients when we are on the way and when we begin and end each job. We are detail-oriented and respectful of others’ property, and we hope it shows in our work. Not to mention, we pay attention to the dogs if they are in the yard with us—free belly rubs for everyone.”

On a typical day, the poop patrol starts around 7:30 a.m. “with a chai latte in hand,” Beverly says. “We check trucks to make sure we have all supplies needed for the day, which includes enough treats for all our four-legged friends, and then hit the road smiling all the way.”

They serve clients in Alexander, Benton, Bryant, Little Rock, North Little Rock, Maumelle, and Sherwood.

While many customers hire Arkansas Poop Patrol so they can have extra time, the Patrol also helps others who may not be able to do such a chore. “We have a couple of clients who have undergone hip replacements, and one client’s husband had a stroke. Another just had twins and her husband travels, so she simply does not have the time or energy to put toward cleaning up after her dogs in her yard.”

Arkansas Poop Patrol pursues their passion of animals and the outdoors so you can have more time to pursue yours. For a free quote, please give them a call at 501.400.0088 or visit us at www.arpooppatrol.com. Also, you can follow them on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. νJillian Jacuzzi
