Perhaps one of the most notable historical figures to overcome personal limitations was Helen Adams Keller (June 27, 1880 – June 1, 1968). Keller was an American author, disability advocate, and lecturer. After an illness when she was 19 months old, she lost her sight and hearing. Despite many setbacks, Keller attended Radcliffe College of Harvard University and became the first deaf and blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in the United States.
However, her inability to see or hear did not prevent her from having vision. Helen said, “The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight but no vision.”
Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish….”
Those individuals who have powerfully and permanently influenced our community and world have been the seers. Men and women who have seen more and farther than their peers. These are the pioneers of faith and vision. Eyes that look are common, but eyes that see are very rare.
For vision to be effective, it must include the indispensable ingredients of optimism, enthusiasm, and hope for the future. Aldous Huxley said, “The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age, which means never losing enthusiasm.” Some common synonyms of enthusiasm are fervor, passion, and zeal. While all these words mean “intense emotion compelling action,” enthusiasm applies to lively or eager interest in or admiration for a proposal, cause, or activity.
Once one discovers his or her purpose in life, he or she must then embrace the vision and develop strategies to see it come to fruition. ”Don’t just Think it, Ink it!” “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” (Hab. 2:2)
Here are four simple steps to implement to see your vision become a reality.
1. Write it down
2. Recite it repeatedly
3. Review it daily
4. Do it consistently
The secret to your future is found in your daily routine!
The four keys to seeing your vision come to fruition are:
1. Conquer your fears
2. Never let your failures stop you. Always Fail Forward.
3. Don’t see yourself as who you are but for who you are becoming.
4. Never, ever quit!
Remember this closing thought: “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
“With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” Jesus Christ
Can you see it now? ν
