A Benton staple since 1953, Westside Pharmacy has served Saline County at its current location since 1977. As it has been for over 60 years now, Westside Pharmacy remains family owned and is now managed by Pam Breckinridge, daughter of the late Jack Haynes.
“We always try to help and serve our customers as best we can,” she said. “The motto of the store has always been, ‘The Friendly Store,’ since the day my dad opened the store all those years ago.”
“Having so many loyal customers and helping so many wonderful people is something I find especially rewarding,” she added. “It makes me feel close to my dad.”
Westside Pharmacy provides a location for specialty gifts and merchandise to include jewelry, home décor, Razorback items, as well as many Christmas items to choose from.
However, the store’s chief purpose remains the customer’s health care, individual needs and the professionalism of the staff. “The pharmacists always try to provide helpful one-on-one service, she said. “They get to know the customers, what they need and then make it a priority to always properly help them.”
In addition to excellent service, Westside Pharmacy offers free delivery in Saline County, and most recently, they’ve added an online component where customers can request prescription refills.
“This is a great feature, allowing them to make that request from the comfort of their home,” Breckinridge said. “When filled, those prescriptions are then available for pickup or delivery. It’s just another service we’re proud to bring to Benton and the County,” she added.
