The forecast is in: Spring Cleaning has arrived! Dr. Clint Fulks of Fulks Family Dentistry provides the quality-of-care Saline County residents need for a healthy smile. With over 1,000 5-star reviews on Google and 10 years reigning as “Best of the Best,” this family practice is ready to help patients of all ages.
“We can do it all,” Dr. Fulks says. “We place dental implants, we do root canals, we do cosmetic procedures such as veneers and porcelain crowns, we treat temporomandibular disorders (TMJ), and handle all other aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry.”
Originally from Beebe, Arkansas, Dr. Fulks attended college at Ouachita Baptist University, followed by dental school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. After graduation in 2005, he practiced as an associate at a busy cosmetic practice in Maumelle. “After 3 years of practicing as an associate, I knew I wanted to own my own practice.”
Dr. Fulks and his wife, Hannah, relocated to Saline County in 2008, just 8 days before their eldest son was born. The growing young family had another new adventure on the horizon. In October of 2008, a mere three weeks after their move, they opened the doors to Fulks Family Dentistry.
Beginnings for the practice started small but sustained continuous development. “The late Curtis Ferguson made me a deal I couldn’t refuse and provided me with a good space for a start-up dental practice below his furniture store,” Fulks says. “I believe at the time, I was the 4th dentist to open a practice in that space.” Dr Fulks said that initially, they equipped two operatories and had one employee.
“One of my childhood best friends was my first patient and second patient,” he recalls. He started out his practice working Monday through Wednesday at Fulks Family Dentistry and worked at a corporate pediatric dental office in Pine Bluff the remainder of the work week. “This allowed me breathing room while I got my scratch-start practice up and running.” As his wife, Hannah, and their family became part of the community, Fulks says his practice enjoyed steady growth. “After 9 years in our initial location, we outgrew that space. At that time, we were able to build a new, larger facility on Highway 5 where we practice today.”
What sets the practice apart is its dedication to patient care. “Any patient who comes into our office is truly cared about,” Dr. Fulks says. “Our mission is to deliver the highest level of care in each moment, while fostering long term relationships built on trust, love, compassion, kindness, education, comfort, and patience.”
He realizes that every set of teeth is connected to a human—and that is what he really cares about. “I love getting a great clinical outcome where the patient and I are both tickled. But the relationships I develop with my patients are what’re most fulfilling to me.” Fulks Family Dentistry views patients as the name suggests: as family.
The loyal staff strives to give each patient the best service possible, recommending no more—or less—treatment than needed. “I want to help patients achieve dental health and then equip them to maintain that health,” Fulks shares. “Dental health can look different for different people. And we are always working to figure out where that balance is.”
Part of regular maintenance is regular cleanings, according to Dr. Fulk. “Regular cleanings are important. Even with good at-home hygiene practices, sometimes tartar can build up on teeth,” he shares.
“Hygienists have special tools and training to remove hard deposits, which helps take care of your teeth and gums at home. Cleanings also allow us to catch any restorative needs, like fillings, early so that we can minimize what might need to be done in a timely manner.” In between cleanings, patients are encouraged to be diligent in their own hygiene routines. Dr. Fulk’s quick tips for a healthy smile? “Avoid sugar, brush at least twice a day, and floss! It seems redundant and no fun, but it’s true.”
When Dr. Fulks is off the clock, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Hannah, and their three wonderful boys: Pratt, Max, and Whit (ages 17, 14 and 10). “We love traveling. We love eating out. We love music,” they share. “We chase our boys around a lot because they are in busy ages…but we love it.”
They aim to live in the moment and soak up the days, which are ever fleeting but lots of fun. Hannah shares, “Clint does have honeybees at our local farm. He got into beekeeping during Covid when our dental offices were all shut down.” They harvest their own honey complete with labels, “Honey Badger Farms Honey,” – hinting at a family joke or two.
Providing more than just beautiful smiles, Dr. Fulks and the staff at Fulks Family Dentistry are ready to welcome you into their family.
