For nearly four decades, the sight of a bright red truck rolling through Saline County has carried a promise: help is on the way. To most, those trucks are more than just work vehicles. They mean reliability, community, and the enduring spirit of a family business that’s grown alongside one of Arkansas’s fastest-developing regions.
Jones Heating & Air, known as “the Red Truck Guys,” has been serving Central Arkansas since 1985. Founded by Randy and Linda Jones. Randy Jones saw an opportunity to fill a gap in the heating and air industry after working for ArkLa Gas Corporation.
In 1985, he opened the doors to Jones Heating & Air. Nearly a decade later, his daughter Rhonda O’Neal and son in law Bryan O’Neal joined the company, bringing with them both ambition and enthusiasm to keep the Jones name going strong. In 1995, his other daughter Deana Henningsen joined the company to help grow the business along with the rest of family.
“When Rhonda and I started in 1993, we had three install trucks and one service truck. Randy was also very involved in the field with service and install. Now, we run a full fleet of service, install, and commercial trucks, along with multiple managers on the road. We employ a great group of people today. It’s grown into something special that started from a vision of Randy Jones.”
What hasn’t changed, though, is the atmosphere. Randy still continues serving as CEO, always involved in day-to-day operations. “He gave me the opportunity to help and be a part of so many good things,” O’Neal said.
When asking what it means to have a company in Saline County for nearly 40 years, his answer comes quickly: pride. “We pride ourselves on being one of the leading residential and commercial heating and air conditioning companies in Arkansas.
“We love Saline County,” he said. “Everything we do and give back, we invest here. We support our schools, clubs, and local organizations. We are so proud of our community, our government, and our schools.”
This community focus has become part of the company’s identity. Whether it’s jerseys for the school athletics and organizations or emergency HVAC repair on a freezing night, Jones Heating & Air shows up. That presence has earned them trust and a lasting place among Saline County residents.
For the family, the company’s greatest achievement isn’t measured in trucks or contracts. It’s in the people. Many employees have spent their entire careers at Jones Heating & Air.
“When our staff hire an employee, we committed to them. We do everything in our power to develop and train them so they can be successful to support their families. That’s always been our focus.”
In a competitive industry, Jones Heating & Air has carved out a reputation for being available when it matters most. Jones Heating & Air promises 24/7 emergency service. They are always ready to show up when they are needed, regardless of the hour.
But that’s not the only thing people remember when they think of Jones. O’Neal shared, “In 1994 we bought our first red truck and it just kind of stuck. All the other service companies at the time seemed to lean toward the white trucks, and we wanted something different. We chose red, and now people know us as the “Red Truck Guys.”
That simple branding decision has become one of their greatest marketing assets, as O’Neal says customers now call asking specifically for “the guys with the red trucks,” ensuring Jones Heating & Air stays top of mind.
In 2022, Jones Heating & Air moved into a new facility off Interstate 30, giving them room to expand operations and better serve Saline County’s growing population. “Our plan is steady growth,” O’Neal said. “We want to keep bringing more guys on, putting more red trucks on the road, and taking care of more people.”
The legacy of Jones Heating & Air is defined not only by the number of customers served but by being a solution for people who need knowledge and experience to keep them comfy year-round.
When reflecting about their longevity serving the community, it simply comes down to their expert team. “We can’t do it without our employees; we are so grateful for their showing up every day and giving their best. Their hard work, their dedication, and their commitment to our customers and community are what keep this company strong,” says O’Neal.
By using top brands such as Trane, Rheem, and Lennox, Jones Heating & Air can provide quality products to all their customers, as well as professional heating and air conditioning maintenance. The staff includes BPI-certified and factory-trained technicians who are nationally recognized by Trane; these folks have earned their reputation for doing things the right way, every time.
From the first red truck in 1994 to a fleet that now crisscrosses Central Arkansas, Jones Heating & Air has become more than an HVAC company. It’s a family, a community partner, and a symbol of how small businesses build strong towns.
